Core Workflows

📋 Create a Test Order

  1. Search for patient by NHS number or name
  2. Select required tests from catalogue
  3. Set priority (STAT, URGENT, ROUTINE)
  4. Add relevant clinical information
  5. Confirm specimen type and collection details
  6. Submit order

🔬 View Results

  1. Select patient from recent orders
  2. View all outstanding and completed orders
  3. Click on completed orders to view results
  4. Review result values against reference ranges
  5. Check abnormal flags and clinical alerts
  6. Download results report (PDF)

📊 Monitor Order Status

  1. Access dashboard showing all active orders
  2. View order status: PENDING, ACCEPTED, IN_PROGRESS, COMPLETED
  3. Receive notifications when results are available
  4. Track turnaround time vs expected delivery
  5. Flag orders requiring urgent review
